A young girl committed suicide in Lal Shahbaz Colony, New Karachi Industrial Area police limits on Thursday.
Shanaz, 23, daughter of Shahid, locked herself in her room after an exchange of hot words with her parents. After a few hours, her mother called her out but received no response. She then called her husband Shahid and he broke the door, only to find Shanaz’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. Her body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. According to the police, the deceased liked someone and was disheartened when her parents disapproved of her choice.
Policeman killed in road accident: A police constable was killed in a hit and run incident in Korangi Industrial Area police limits on Thursday.
Constable Haseeb, 30, was knocked down to death when an unidentified vehicle hit his motorbike in Korangi Industrial Area police jurisdiction. The victim’s body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities. According to the police, the deceased was a resident of Police Lines East and was heading home after his duty ended.
Meanwhile, the decomposed body of an unidentified 35-year-old man was found floating in the sea near Sea View Apartment in Darakshan police area. Some passerby saw the body and informed the police. A mobile van of the said police station reached the spot and shifted the body to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. MLO JPMC said that body was at least two days old and further added that the victim’s died due to drowning.
