CM not satisfied with cleanliness arrangements

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Thursday visited various localities of the city to see the situation in the aftermath of rains.

The localities included Mauripur, Gul Bai, Adam Khan Road, Lyari, Sher Shah, SITE, Metroville, Habib Bank Chowrangi, Gujar Nulla, Nazimabad, Orangabad, Liaquatabad, Gharibabad, Essa Nagri, Hasan Square, Shahra-e-Faisal, Nursery and others.

He expressed dissatisfaction over cleanliness measures in place and directed the authorities concerned to dispose of stagnated water from roads and streets at the earliest so that the people of the affected localities did not have to face hardships.

The chief minister expressed his shock over the deteriorating condition of roads in the SITE Industrial Area, SITE Town, Sher Shah, Keamari Town and other localities and directed the authorities concerned for early repair of the damaged roads and streets.

He also visited the venue of the building which collapsed on Wednesday, leaving eight persons dead.

The chief minister was apprised by the demolition staff concerned that all the trapped persons were rescued.

New US CG calls on CM: The newly appointed Consul-General of the United States in Karachi William John Martin called on Sindh Chief Minster Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the Chief Minister House. He was accompanied by Political Officer Ms Marry Elizabeth Madden.

They discussed matters of mutual interest.

Shah lauded the cordial relationship between Pakistan and the US and hoped that the same will be further strengthened in future. Asean diplomats call on CM: The heads of Asean’s mission in Islamabad comprising a 14-member delegation of nine countries called on the chief minister.

The chief minister invited the delegation to make investment in the province and they showed their willingness for the same.

The delegation included Jesus I Yades, Ambassador of the Republic of Philippines; Abdul Jalil, High commissioner of Brunei Darulsalam; Ishak Latueossuia Ambassador of Indonesia; Dato Ahmad Anwar Adnan High Commissioner of Malaysia; Marut Jitpatima Ambassador Kingdom of Thailand; Khalid Abdul Rehman, Consul General of Malaysia; Conrado B. Demdem, Third Secretary Embassy of Philippines; Ahsan Mukhtar Zuberi; Najam Choudhary and Syed Iqbal Ghazi.
