MQM submits budgetary proposals for the financial year 2012 – 13 to CM Sindh

PRESS CONFERENCE BY PARLIAMENTARY LEADER OF THE MQM IN THE SINDH ASSEMBLY

Parliamentary party of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh has handed over budget proposals for the financial year 2012-13 to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and the provincial finance minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. This was announced by Mr Syed Sardar Ahmed, parliamentary leader of the MQM in the Sindh Assembly, in a press conference.Deputy parliamentary leader and provincial minister Syed Faisal Sabzwari, provincial ministers Mr Shaikh Muhammad Afzal, Mr Nisar Panhwar, and Mr Zubair Ahmed Khan accompanied Mr Ahmed during the press conference.

Talking to the press and media Mr Ahmed said that the MQM has presented the proposals in line with the vision of MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain for the welfare of the people of Sindh in the form of a formal budget document.


Mr Ahmed said that CM Shah had asked the provincial finance minister to analyze the proposals submitted by the MQM and efforts be made to incorporate the suggestions in the upcoming budget of the Sindh province.


Mr Ahmed said that the proposals recommend all taxable incomes to be brought under the tax net. An agricultural Income Tax Bill 2012 has also been made a part of the proposals.
Mr Ahmed said that the proposals not only support the giving of subsidy on wheat, it also recommends subsidy on wheat flour as well in order to contain the prices of a flour bag of 40 kg to Rs 750.


Mr Ahmed said that the MQM has proposed 160 billion rupees for development expenditures, and it would not be a deficit budget.
Earlier, the MQM members in the National Assembly had submitted budgetary proposals in the form of a shadow budget to the prime minister.
