Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the public meeting being organized by the Women Wing of the MQM on 19th February in Bagh-e-Quaid-e-Azam would be the largest ever public meeting of the women. He said this while talking to the workers of the women wing who were busy in making preparations for the public meeting. A large number of other women were also present on the occasion.
There was big zeal and fervour among the women when Mr Hussain called. They raised loud slogans to express their emotions and sentiments. Mr Hussain said that other parties had held large gatherings at the venue but the historic public meeting of the women on the 19th February would demolish all records and establish that even the women of the MQM were sufficient to take on the challenge posed by the opponents.
Mr Hussain praised the women busy in their work and said wherever there was the flag of the MQM, there would be people having love for the humanity. He said that the women belonging to all faiths and nationalities would be present on the 19th February and demonstrate that they were firmly united despite diversity in their background.

MQM urges SC to take suo motu notice over Senator Bilour's comments
Text of the Press Conference
Respected Journalists
We are thankful to you for your arrival. We have troubled you today to inform you about the position of the MQM on an issue that relates to the causes behind deteriorating circumstances in Sindh and particularly Karachi. The family members of the people martyred in Karachi by the bloodthirsty killers are also present in this press conference.
Before we proceed further, we would like you to hear the highly provocative statement of the central leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Senator Ilyas Bilour that he made yesterday the 9th February in the programme “Pakistan Tonight with Fahad Hussain” on the ATY TV channel.
Respected Journalists
You have heard for yourself how the ANP leader Ilyas Bilour has said in a brazen manner that it was the ANP that reined in the MQM in Karachi and not any Sindhi feudal lord. You know it very well that when the nose string (nakail) is passed through the nose of someone, he is first made powerless by tying his hands and foot. The statement made by the ANP leader Ilyas Bilour makes it very clear that they made the entire MQM helpless by killing their people without any fear, shedding their blood with impunity and cutting them to pieces.
Respected Journalists
The outpouring of the ANP leader Ilyas Bilour regarding the MQM is an open admission of guilt that the continuous bloodshed in Karachi was done by the ANP. The ANP leaders instead of showing remorse on the killing of innocent workers and sympathisers of the MQM are showing their jubilation and presenting this as a feat in support of someone’s candidacy for the Senate.
Now that Senator Ilyas Bilour has accepted the responsibility for the bloodshed of the MQM workers and sympathizers which is a matter of record now, we appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftakhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take urgent notice of the issue in the light of the statement made by Senator Ilyas Bilour. Those, whose hands are smeared with the blood of innocent people, should be made to answer for their crimes and punished according to law.
Respected Journalists
Senator Ilyas Bilour has not only accepted the responsibility of killing the innocent workers and sympathizers of the MQM, but rubbed salt in the wounds of the people by his provocative statement. The family members of the people martyred in Karachi appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan through this press conference to give them justice and bringing to book the killers of their loved-ones.
Senator Ilyas Bilour has openly admitted the reality that the ANP is directly involved in the killing of the MQM workers and sympathizers in Karachi, and it is the ANP that is responsible for destroying the environment of peace in Karachi by bloodshed and terrorism. The fact of the matter is that the ANP government has failed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because of their misdeeds and corruption. It is now fanning the hatred, violence and bloodshed in Karachi and sacrificing the peaceful Pakhtun people living in Karachi at the altar of its hideous politics.
Respected Journalists
We have been making practical efforts for the promotion of peace and brotherly relations among various linguistic and ethnic entities living in Karachi. It is now very much before you as to who is trying to spread hatred by making inflammatory statements and rubbing slat in the wounds of the people.
Respected Journalists
We appeal to all the democratic political parties that believe in the dignity of mankind to take notice of the statement of Senator Ilyas Bilour and condemn it.

He made this announcement. Mr Hussain said that women have played a brave role in the struggle of the MQM since 1978. When the difficult times came during struggle of the movement spanning over a period of 35 years and mere affiliation with the MQM was made a grave crime, the women came forward and uplifted the flag of the MQM. They opened Nine Zero and worked courageously.
They were trampled upon by the horses, subjected to ill-treatment in the jails but they did not lose hope and carried the mission and objective of the movement forward. Mr Hussain paid glowing tributes to the women for their relentless struggle and said that they would once again make a history by organizing a grand public meeting in Bagh-i-Jinnah on the 19th February. MQM announced membership campaign all over the country for brining a real change in the country, people should join MQM, Anis Qaimkhani
TEXT OF PRESS CONFERENCE
First of all we are thankful to you for coming to attend this Press Conference.
You are well aware that every type of high-handed tactic was used in the past against Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) that has had its origin in the poor and middle class segment of the society. Conspiracies were hatched to keep the deprived disadvantaged people of the country away from the MQM, and persistent negative propaganda was done for this purpose. Although the exploitative forces did not desist from any type of persecution and cruelty, the MQM has not only spread in the cities, towns and villages of Sindh but also its message is getting wide acceptance in the Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northern Areas, Azad Kashmir and the Tribal Areas. This became possible because of the enlightened and progressive leadership of Mr. Altaf Hussain, immortal sacrifices of our martyrs and the untiring struggle of our determined workers. People across the country are now uniting on the MQM platform under the galvanizing leadership of Mr. Altaf Hussain.
Public, by and large, has come to the conclusion after testing all other political parties that the MQM is the only political party in the country that truly represents the poor and the middle class people of the country and there are no feudal lords, chieftains and big-business persons in the MQM. There is no dynastic political culture in the MQM, and it is not known by any particular family either. The MQM has sent clean, honest and capable people from the poor and middle class to the assemblies instead of big names from the rich privileged class. It is because of this that the popularity of the MQM is increasing continuously and people from a varied social spectrum and different spheres of lives are joining the MQM after being inspired by the political philosophy of Mr Altaf Hussain.
We believe that it is these clean people who can bring a real change in the country. Although every party in the country is raising the slogan of a revolution, but it is a fact that the people who have been tested time and again cannot change the system and transform the fate of the people.
Respected Journalists
Now that people from the length and breadth of the country are contacting us for joining the MQM, we have decided to start a membership campaign. We feel great pleasure in announcing that the MQM will start its membership campaign in every part of the country since 9th February 2012. Camps will be set up for this purpose throughout the country where elected representatives, office-bearers and workers of the MQM will be present to facilitate the people and inform them about the political philosophy and ideology of Mr Altaf Hussain.
We appeal to the members of the public to strengthen hands of Mr Altaf Hussain for bringing a real change in the country. We ask them to rise to the occasion and play their role for the rights of the poor and middle class people of the country.

SITUATION IN KARACHI IS BEING DESTABLIZED UNDER ASITUATION IN KARACHI IS BEING DESTABLIZED UNDER A PLANNED CONSPIRACY: ALTAF HUSSAIN
Addressing a meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM at Nine Zero on telephone, Mr Hussain said that he had been forewarning the nation about these threats over the past many years that Karachi was being handed over to the terrorists under a deep conspiracy. He regretted that he was not taken seriously, and his warnings were ridiculed and the government and the administration did not pay attention to what he had said. They laughed at him and misled the nation.
Mr Hussain said that the entire city of Karachi was in the grip of the armed terrorists, and the citizens were at their mercy. He said that the situation in Karachi was being subverted under a planned conspiracy.
Mr Hussain said that, on the one hand, sectarian strife was being fuelled in which innocent people were dying while on the other hand, banks, business centres and shops were being attacked. Today, a doctor had fallen victim to the firing by armed people Malir while the offices of a mobile company were attacked in broad daylight in Nazimabad, and innocent people were targeted.
Mr Hussain said that the incidents of terrorism were occurring in the city continually and the government and the administration were not being able to provide adequate security to the life and property of the citizens. He said that there was no other option left for the citizens but to think and prepare themselves for self-protection. If this was not done the terrorists would become emboldened, and more people would fall prey to violence.
Mr Hussain appealed to the business persons, shopkeepers, traders and the citizens, by and large, to come forward for protecting their streets, shops, and business places for the attacks of the terrorists. Instead of relying solely on the police and the administration the people must take steps on the self-help basis. Vigilance committees should be formed, and a system should be devised for keep a watch in the locality. Alarms should also be installed in order to warn the people.
Mr Hussain offered his condolences to the bereaved family members who had lost their loved-ones in the continuing wave of terrorism in the city.
